Please make sure you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions before you make a booking. By placing a booking, enrolling in a Program or taking out a subscription, you are deemed to have read, understood and accepted them.
Payment for courses, classes, workshops, assessments and one-to-one training sessions must be made in advance.
Payments are non-refundable unless outlined below.
Brown Dog Training reserves the right to change the content, timing, date, venue or instructor of classes, workshops or one-to-one sessions in order to provide a high-quality service or where it is necessary for reasons beyond our control.
Training plans are not productive if they keep stopping and starting with large gaps in between appointments. Clients who feel they cannot commit to regular training should wait until they feel they can commit before booking/enrolling/subscribing.
An animal will not continue to perform trained behaviours without ongoing practice. Brown Dog Training will make every reasonable effort to help the participant attain their training goals however, Brown Dog Training makes no guarantees of performance on the part of the participant or their dog after the completion of the agreed upon coaching service. Participants understand that their dog’s behaviour is ultimately their own responsibility.
Participants are responsible for purchasing all necessary equipment and/or motivational tools that Brown Dog Training recommends for training your dog.
Please do not bring bitches in season to the training venue.
Payment for courses and workshops is payment for the stated number of consecutive sessions on the dates indicated. Non-attendance will result in a loss of that class or workshop unless the class or workshop is cancelled by Brown Dog Training, in which case a new date will be organised. Non-attendance of the alternative date will result in loss of that class or workshop.
Under the Consumer Rights Act, participants may cancel their purchase within a period of 14 working days beginning the moment they make payment. However, there is no right of cancellation where the course or workshop starts within this 14 day period.
In the event that a course or workshop has such low enrolment as to make it impracticable for Brown Dog Training to provide it, we will either email or call you at least 2 days before your course/workshop is due to begin to let you know there is the possibility that the course or workshop may be cancelled or postponed. If a course or workshop is cancelled due to low enrolment, we will work with you to either transfer you into a new course or workshop, or offer you a full refund.
Payments for courses and workshops are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Behaviour Consultations are conducted in 2 parts:
1. In-depth discussion online or by telephone of the dog's issues and history
2. In-person session to assess the dog.
Both sessions will take 1 to 2 hours each.
A follow-up report detailing the prognosis and recommended training plan will follow within 3 working days after the assessment.
Under the Consumer Rights Act you may cancel your initial purchase within a period of 14 working days beginning the moment you make your payment. However, there is no right of cancellation where you have the first part of your consultation within this 14-day period.
You are responsible for booking your own Consultation. Brown Dog Training will supply a link to Calendly for you to do this.
Both parts of the behaviour assessment must be taken within 2 calendar months from the date of payment. If either part of the Consultation have not been taken by this date they will be forfeited and a training plan will not be provided.
For monthly membership subscription services, recurring payments will be set up to automatically process via Stripe or Paypal. Initial payments will be processed immediately, and monthly on the same date thereafter until you cancel your subscription. In the event that any payment is not made, Brown Dog Training shall immediately suspend your access to support and training.

Brown Dog Training does not provide refunds for past months of subscriptions, regardless of whether or not you accessed support or had one-to-one coaching sessions.
You are responsible for booking your own training sessions. Brown Dog Training will supply a link to Calendly for you to do this.
Coaching sessions will not be carried forward from one month to the next. Any coaching sessions that have not been taken by your next payment date will be forfeited.
Payments for memberships are non-transferable.
If a behaviour assessment is required, it will count as one of your monthly training sessions. This will be advised to you at your initial Discovery Call.
Family members are always welcome at courses/classes/workshops/one-to-one coaching sessions. All children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult. If attending with children under the age of 8 years please bring an extra adult. If you are attending with children under 16, you are responsible for their behaviour.
Please keep dogs on leads at all times unless otherwise directed by your instructor or coach.
You are responsible for your dog’s behaviour and actions at all times and are required to clean up after your dog should they foul on the premises or in public areas. Please take all waste and rubbish home with you.
Brown Dog Training reserves the right to exclude or offer alternative training to any dog if we consider it to be in the dog's best interests or to ensure the safety of others.
Brown Dog Training does not allow the use of any harsh handling.
Brown Dog Training reserves the right to request any persons to leave the course, workshop or one-to-one coaching session without refund if they are abusive to any other person or dog, or their own dog.
It is the participant's responsibility to ensure that they arrive at the right venue at the correct time.
Participants must follow instructions at all times, including all safety instructions.
Training equipment must not be used when the trainer is not present. Any injury to a dog is the sole responsibility of the participant.
You should not bring your dog to a training session if it has shown symptoms of, or been in contact with, any contagious disease in the previous seven days including, but not limited to, kennel cough, or if it is carrying fleas.
Proof of vaccinations (or titre test results) may be required.
Please do not bring bitches in season to the training venue.
It is the participant's responsibility to ensure their dog is fit and healthy to attend training, is free of parasites, vaccinated or titre tested and is not suffering any infectious disease or condition that could be transmitted to any other dogs. If in doubt about your dog’s health please consult a veterinarian.
If your dog falls ill during or shortly after an in-person one-to-one coaching session, course, class or workshop, you must inform Brown Dog Training immediately by email to discuss further action and to prevent a possible disease from spreading. The participant takes full responsibility for their dog’s health.
Photo Release - By agreeing to the Terms and Conditions, you give Brown Dog Training in all it's forms permission to publish in print, electronic or video format the likeness or image of you and/or your dog where such likeness or image was obtained in a class/workshop/one-to-one. You release all claims against Brown Dog Training with respect to privacy rights, publicity rights, copyright ownership and publication, including any claim for compensation related to the use of the materials.
Participation in any services offered by Brown Dog Training is at your own risk which means the insurance lies with the participants themselves.
All instances of accident or injury must be reported to the instructor or coach at the time they occurred.
Brown Dog Training accepts no responsibility for injury to you or your dog, sustained at or away from any training venue, coaching session, class, course or workshop.
Brown Dog Training accepts no responsibility for theft or damage to cars or property whilst at any training venue, coaching session, class, course or workshop.
Brown Dog Training takes all reasonable precautions within the structure of our services and on our premises to avoid injury resulting from dog bites. However, Brown Dog Training accepts no responsibility for damage or injury resulting from dog bites occurring to clients or their dogs while attending services. The Control of Dogs Act 1986 section 21 - "Liability of owner for damage by Dog" applies within our training sessions and on our premises (rented from a third party or owned).
Animal aggression can cause injury, including fatal injury, to other animals and people. Treatment for aggression is not a guarantee of success and modifying behaviour does not ensure that the aggression will be successfully controlled. It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that their dog does not harm in the future. Precautions may involve but are not limited to, keeping a dog on a lead, the use of a muzzle, informing others of the dog’s aggressive tendencies, not mixing with certain types of people or other dogs, or confinement behind fencing and doors. Owners remain responsible for their dogs at all times and are advised to have adequate pet or household insurance cover for liability in the event of damage or injury caused by their dog to property or to a third party. It is strongly recommended that your dog is insured for third party liability with or without vet cover.
